Why should I register for Athens?

If you work in healthcare in London, you can register to use electronic journals, electronic books, and healthcare databases.  Athens is the authentication system that allows you to access these resources which are available anytime, anywhere.

How do I register for Athens?

You can obtain an NHS Athens username and password by entering your details on the application form. You will need:

  • Your NHS email address or to be on an NHS computer
  • and to know the name of your NHS employer

Forgotten your password?

If you have already registered, go to to the Athens reset your password page.
If you are still having difficulty logging into the service your local health library or local Athens Administrator will be able to help you.

Log in to My Account section and update your details to change your organisation, email address or password.
